Our legs are designed to stay together to be able to run and walk. It’s very much against their nature to spread open,D

But similar to hamstrings, our inner thighs need strength at this range as well, because if the joint can go there, we should explore the range, and most importantly, to become stronger at that range, so our nervous system feels strong to come to weird shapes, and therefore when something else weird happens to us, we know we can handle it,)

Samakonasana means same angle, so we want our legs to go to the same angle on each side, and this angle is considered to be 180. However, our legs are not really attached (for most of us) at the sides, but the pelvis receives the leg a little bit from the front. And we have to learn to respect this. The way to overcome this, is to help with external rotation, and go “around” our bone structure.
